These fabulous Gloves by Merinomink are made from an exclusive blend of fine Merino wool and luxurious Brushtail possum fibre.
The Brushtail possum fibre in Merinomink has a unique hollow structure. This gives it a high warmth to weight ratio, creating a warm and comfortable garment without bulk. Merinomink is wonderfully soft to touch, prevents pilling (rubbing) and washes extremely well.
Each garment is made individually to exacting quality standards, from fur selection through to yarn development and finally garment construction.
The Brushtail possum is an animal introduced to New Zealand and is only found in Australia and New Zealand. In Australia the possum is a protected species (this should not be confused with the North American Opossum, which is a different animal), but in New Zealand they eat their way through 20,000 tonnes of native herbage each night, wreaking havoc on the natural environment.
